The Central Illinois Breakthrough Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) Walk is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 13, at the Eastside Center in East Peoria, promising a day of community support, research advocacy, and fundraising.
Avery Ax, the Illinois Youth Ambassador for Breakthrough T1D, joined WCIA’s Mitchell Rife to highlight the significance of the event. Ax expressed hopes for a large turnout, expecting “hundreds” of participants to walk in solidarity for those living with Type 1 Diabetes.
The walk, which spans one mile, aims to raise funds and awareness for Type 1 Diabetes research and advocacy. Attendees can look forward to an array of activities, including vendor booths, a lively dance party, and lunch provided by Avanti’s.
The event will kick off at 9:30 a.m. at the Eastside Center. For further details and registration, visit the Breakthrough T1D website.
