As we all know, for patients with diabetes, daily monitoring of blood sugar is a very important part, which can reflect the current blood sugar status of patients, but also reflect the patient’s eating the night before and whether the amount of medicine is appropriate.
What is involved here is “fasting blood sugar”, not any time after the morning, strictly speaking, after eating dinner the night before, fasting for 8 to 12 hours overnight, and taking blood before 8 o ‘clock the next morning, can be counted as fasting blood sugar in the true sense.
What is the standard range of fasting blood sugar when you wake up in the morning? Don’t just relax the standards.
Some people think that it doesn’t matter if the fasting blood sugar is higher, as long as the diagnostic criteria for diabetes are not met, it can continue to be ignored. In fact, for normal people, due to normal islet function, the fasting blood glucose range is 3.9~6.1mmol/L.
If your fasting blood sugar is greater than or equal to 7.0 mmol/L, or your blood sugar is greater than or equal to 11.1 mmol/L two hours after a meal, you need to retest your blood sugar.
If the blood glucose value is not remeasured on the same day, the fasting blood glucose value is still greater than or equal to 7.0 mmol/L, or the blood glucose value of 2 hours after a meal is greater than or equal to 11.1 mmol/L, then the diagnostic criteria for diabetes are met, and everyone needs to pay attention to it, and should actively cooperate with the diagnosis and treatment plan of the attending doctor.
If your measured fasting blood glucose is between 6.1 and 7.0 mmol/L, and the blood glucose value of 2 hours after meals is less than 7.8 mmol/L, it indicates that the fasting blood glucose regulation is simply impaired, and this stage belongs to the early stage of type 2 diabetes, which can also be understood as pre-diabetes.
For people with pre-diabetes, it is the reversible stage of the transformation from normal glucose tolerance to diabetes, usually there is no obvious symptoms, and some patients may have palpitations, palpitations, hand shaking, dizziness and other conditions. However, the discomfort usually eases after the meal.
At this point, it means that we have to actively intervene, if not intervention is likely to speed up the process of diabetes, or even really develop diabetes. On the contrary, if timely intervention, but can inhibit the occurrence of diabetes.
Simple impaired fasting glucose regulation (pre-diabetes) should be done?
We can start from the diet and life, since we have been in a state of impaired glucose tolerance, we should pay attention to high-salt, high-sugar, high-fat diet, such food is delicious can stimulate people’s appetite, but at the same time will greatly increase the metabolic burden of the body, induce hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes and other chronic diseases, should be light diet, food diversification of eating.
In daily life, in order to control their own blood sugar, it is recommended that pre-diabetic patients do not stay up late, maintain a good positive attitude, moderate exercise, quit smoking and alcohol, and develop good living habits, which will help prevent type 2 diabetes.
