BOSTON—In the second installment of INDIA New England News’ Diabetes Series, Dr. Om Ganda, MD, delves into the long-term complications associated with diabetes, focusing on its impact on vision, heart, stroke, circulation, kidney diseases, and other organs. Dr. Ganda also discusses the role of new medicines, alongside the importance of diet and exercise in preventing and managing diabetes.
Dr. Ganda will be a featured speaker at the 10th Annual Health Expo, scheduled for Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the Burlington Marriott Hotel in Burlington, MA. The expo is a day-long event, free to attendees with pre-registration, and will run from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The expo will showcase a wide range of health and wellness topics, including modern medicine, alternative therapies, yoga, meditation, physical fitness, beauty, and anti-aging.
As Medical Director of the Lipid Clinic and Senior Faculty of Global Education and Care at Joslin Diabetes Center, Dr. Ganda is deeply involved in diabetes treatment and research, particularly focusing on Lipid Disorders, Type 2 Diabetes, and Cardiovascular Risk Reduction. His work at Joslin, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School, includes clinical trials exploring the links between type 1 and type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
This year’s Health Expo will bring together health professionals, workshops, and activities, from medical screenings to yoga and Bollywood dance sessions, aimed at promoting lifelong health and fitness within the New England community.
